Celestial Arts

An Imprint of Ten Speed Press

Celestial Arts was founded by poster printer Hal Kramer in San Francisco in 1963. During the Human Potential Movement of the seventies, Celestial Arts blossomed into a book publisher and made a name for itself with best-sellers like Loving Someone Gay and Virginia Satir’s inspirational poem-book Self-Esteem. Celestial Arts joined Ten Speed Press in 1983.

Over the years, Celestial Arts has evolved into a widely respected body, mind, and spirit imprint with an emphasis on alternative health (Alternative Medicine: The Definitive Guide), nutrition (Staying Healthy with Nutrition), parenting (Uncommon Sense for Parents with Teenagers), eastern thought (Eastern Body, Western Mind), self-help (Love Is Letting Go of Fear), and inspirational titles (How to Be Happy, Dammit!). Celestial Arts also continues to offer an array of high-quality posters.
